I was hired to photoscan the interior of the old SCAD theater in Midtown Atlanta, for a the new owners; Freechapel Church.
The goal was to get an interactive visual model of the interior, so that we could accurately stage production equipment layouts with millimeter precision, to rapidly do placement and equipment iterations. This was beneficial as to know which seats would be impacted the most, as well as intuitively knowing if audio equipment would be visually obstructive to any stage elements, like the screens or curtains.
I manually retopologized this scan entirely by hand, as the model needed to be precise down to the mm (based on real world measurements for verification), and traditional decimation methods could give improper results.
