I was tasked on this project to model a 1:1 detailed recreation of a kitchen cabinet for this client. Every single piece that exists in real life, had to be modeled, rigged, and animated.
The original goal for this job, why this task was necessary, was because every single piece was originally supposed to be apart of an exploded view. The client later down sized that request, so we were able to just leave it to a minor assembly view.
Once the detailed modeling and UV mapping was completed in Blender, I brought it over to Cinema 4D to begin rigging it with Xpresso.
Here are some example of the detailed models, and the rigging of the Drawers & Sliders.
Client: 22Squared, Trade School, The Home Depot
Final Deliverable
Demo of the Xpresso Rig. The drawers are set up to be controlled by just dragging the front panel. They are limited to a fixed range of movement for accuracy.
The sliders are also programmed to move realistically with the drawer as they would IRL.
